double bill

winter is here, hibernation indoors, time to catch up on all the books and films that summer makes so difficult to concentrate on...

this monday because of a few looming deadlines, i missed a double bill playing at the Spectacle, a documentary on Denis Hopper's making of The Last Movie and the latter itself. to my relief I found it online, but not in an expected legit place one would think, but instead -- on youtube! in its entirety, both of them.

there was also a conversation recently about "doing homework" -- watching the films and doing the readings friends and people you meet recommend, always a sure way to expand beyong your own often played out, prism. and so i found another thing i was recommended to see, online, in reference to my last short Walkabout -- I understand that Nocturne (great name!) is Lars Von Trier's school grad project, a short.. i have ambivalent feelings about it, his beginner's work, it shows  potential and signature already in the making... but -- i don't speak danish, which would have surely helped to piece it together...
