antipode heaven pt. 1: gabriella an paul.

...

silence doesn't always mean indifference, or the end.
silence could mean -- absence of things to say or absence of time to.
silence could just be fear.

in this case, i have not been here because -- i was elsewhere: on a far corner of the earth, far by my personal standard  farthest i had ever traveled --in beautiful Australia. now i am back in Brooklyn and no fear and but time to say a lot about three weeks spent looking at things.

there is much too see and do with the landsapes such as australian, however i will write about the artists i met, and artists whose work i'd seen and enjoyed.

part one: i stayed with two wonderful people in Melbourne by the way the life accidents in work -- via air bnb. gabriela mangano and paul williams are video artist and a painter (as well a musician) respectively and both were a great company and had shared tips for the best of in their fair city.

gabirella and her sister silvana are coming for research to NY in september and i look forward to seeing their work live. for the lack of further web based materials here are screengrabs and a bit from youtube:

paul paints memories or flashes of forest, that are both haunting and magnetic. more here
